Welcome to my website!
For a while now, I have been writing little essay and reviews about books, music, films and philosophy. Since starting my bachelor of philosophy in Rotterdam I've found a place to work more quote-on-quote professionally on this hobby, but I've also been looking for a place to actually show these written-down thoughts to people. I am not a big fan of social media, so for a while I had the idea to make my own little website, also because I have enjoyed coding for some years now.
I have been passionate about philosophy for about four years now, since I was fifteen. It started at school and gradually evolved from there. I have mostly been interested in twentieth-century French philosophy and phenomenology. The thinkers I've spend the most time reading are Foucault, Mark Fisher, Baudrillard, a bit of Heidegger, and my favorites Deleuze and Guattari. Over the past two or three years I have spent a lot of time on their book Anti-Oedipus: Capitalism and Schizophrenia, and I think it is one of the most interesting works of philosophy I've ever read. It touches a lot on psychoanalysis, which I think is a really interesting topic - especially philosophically - and also on social theory, identity and art. These are the subjects within philosophy I have been the most interested in. I have been enjoying studying philosophy at university a lot, and talking to other people who are very interested in these topics has been a lot of fun. I hope to meet some more people interested in these things here!
